American Advertising Awards presents

The American Advertising Awards, or the AAAwards, are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Every year, at the local level, AAF Dubuque hosts the first level of the three-tier AAAward competition. Winning entries are awarded Silver or Gold AAAwards and are eligible to advance and compete against others in AAF’s 9th District. From there, district winners can move on to the national AAAward competition and ultimately be named “best in the business.”

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) is a national non-profit organization, promoting and protecting the interests of advertising and public relations. Locally, AAF Dubuque is the affiliate to the national organization and AAAward competition.

Entering the American Advertising Awards supports the entire advertising and marketing industry. AAF and all of its affiliate clubs use proceeds of the awards to enhance our field through public service, internships, advocacy, education and consumer awareness.

The AAF Student American Advertising Awards Competition is  designed specially for college students. Similar to professional work entered into the AAAwards, student work can also be entered at the local level and winners are moved on to regional and national judging.

Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.

You can submit work developed specifically for the AAAwards or from previous projects or contests. The only caveat is that your work must be created while you are a student and not employed in the advertising industry. National winners may receive the following:

  • Finalist certificate—great for résumés and portfolios
  • Prestigious Student American Advertising Award for first-place winners
  • $1,000 cash prize for National Best of Show winner
